This is one of the many canoes I built using this nearly forgotten building technique. I studied this method for over three years to learn how they were constructed. Then another four years of trial & error building and continued education. This canoe is the accumulation of everything I learned over those many years. It’s been stored inside since it was built and is in pristine condition. As you can see, it is a solo canoe.
Its measurements are; 15’ in length, 29 ½” across in the center, and 11” deep at the center. The keel is flat. This makes it track straight and very fast. The weight I’m not sure of. I used to be able to easily portage it on my shoulders.
