Experts are beginning to become aware of the negative effects that "maternal absenteeism" has on children, especially for newborns and toddlers. Much is written about easing the conscience of parents when they return to work after the birth of a child. However, little is written on the affect that working parents have on their child (perhaps it is because few newborns or toddlers buy books. . .). There is a new website and Facebook page that provides resources, support and inspiration for the stay-at-home parent. www.parentingneedsparents.com and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/parentingneedsparents .
Please visit this site. Feel free to suggest additional resources or offer comments, both supporting and opposing stay-at-home parenting. Share this site with any parent(s) that may be facing this delicate decision. Thank you for your support, and feedback on this subject.
